Documents outcomes of intervention and follow-up plan of care in patient record.ģ.Communicates outcome of intervention to specific nursing/physician/LIP staff who initiated consult.Assists nursing staff with problem solving and implementation of plan of care.Rounds on nursing babies in neonatal intensive care unit.Rounds on every nursing mother at least once during inpatient stay.Provides breastfeeding intervention to mother/infant based on identified patient needs by primary nurse and/or caregiver and in collaboration with them. Obtains at least 10 contact hours per year.Ģ. Attends continuing education programs.Pursues own professional growth and development.Maintains current knowledge/certification. Shares accountability with management team for breastfeeding core measure outcomes.ġ. Establishes and maintains evidence based protocols. Adjusts teaching plan to meet patient and family needs and evaluates the effectiveness of patient and family education. ![]() Develops and implements standards of care and guidelines for assisting breastfeeding mothers. Actively promotes breastfeeding and assists mothers in reaching their own goals for breastfeeding. Identifies when to clarify information/data with providers and/or Manager. Must be able to perform work duties with minimal direction. Incumbent is expected to analyze problems and take appropriate action. Incumbent will work in accordance with accepted practices and general directives received from providers.
